Students developing their own videos

Video production can be an assignment proposed to students that have to use moving images and sound to communicate a topic. Video production is then a strategy to develop knowledge about the subject, the student being co-creator of knowledge.

This type of activity foster to develop several competences besides subject knowledge and film making as research skills, collaborative working, problem solving, technology, and organizational skills (Allam, 2006). The challenge is to balance learning about filmmaking, learning about the subject and acquiring other relevant skills.
